Can I fly in an AMA field?
All pilots are expected to operate according to the AMA National Safety Code. ALL GUESTS must provide documentation of current FULL AMA membership to be eligible to fly at the field. They are required to read all AMA and DFRCC Field Rules and agree to abide to the regulations as stated.
How do I register my RC plane with the FAA?
To Register a Used sUA or other Unmanned Aircraft under Part 47:
- A completed Aircraft Registration Application: An original Aircraft Registration Application, AC Form 8050-1 must be used.
- A Notarized Affidavit That:
- An N-number to be assigned to the UA being registered.

Is AMA required?
Note that being an AMA member does not get you out of having to register with the FAA. The FAA says that AMA membership is NOT required!
Can I fly rc planes in parks?
Depending on the size and type of your airplane, suitable locations include public parks, sports fields, ball parks, beaches, open hill sides…. You get the idea. Above: public fields are great for flying rc airplanes, so long as it’s permitted.
Do I need a license to fly a model plane?
You don’t need a licence to fly an RC plane recreationally in the US at the moment. But, depending on what country you live in, you may need to take an online test, and mark up your model so that it can be identified.
