What is blueskin VP100?
Blueskin® VP100 is a next generation vapor permeable air barrier that picks up where traditional polymeric wraps leave off. Ideal for wood frame construction, Blueskin® VP100 is a fully adhered, peel-n-stick system that eliminates air leakage while functioning as a water-resistant barrier and rain barrier.
How long can VP100 be exposed?
150 days
Maximum exposure not to exceed 150 days. Excessive moisture in substrate or laps can inhibit adhesion or result in loss of adhesion prior to installation of cladding.
Is blueskin a vapor barrier?
Self-Adhesive Air and Vapor Barrier Membrane Impermeable to air, moisture vapor and water, Blueskin® SA is designed to install easily on a variety of prepared substrates.
What is better than Tyvek?
While both Tyvek® HomeWrap® and the ZIP System provide air- and moisture-resistance, each has potential problems that may diminish their intended purpose. A better solution to a WRB is Barricade® Building Wrap. Barricade Building Wrap is strong, durable, permeable, and easy to install.
Whats better than Tyvek?
Barricade® Wrap Plus is water and air resistant, cold resistant, and includes drainage against bulk water (unlike Typar®). Barricade® Wrap Plus is also surfactant-resistant (unlike Tyvek®), optimally vapor permeable (unlike Tyvek®) and has a longer UV rating than either Typar® or Tyvek HomeWrap®.
What is blue skin House Wrap?
Self-Adhered Water Resistive Air Barrier Membrane Ideal for wood frame construction, Henry® Blueskin® VP100 is a fully adhered, peel-n-stick system that eliminates air leakage while functioning as a water-resistant barrier and rain barrier.
What is blue skin wrap?
Blueskin VP is a patented, fully-adhered, peel-and-stick exterior envelope barrier for residential and commercial buildings that is superior to all mechanically attached technologies when it comes to preventing air and water intrusion.
Do you need to prime blueskin?
Blueskin® Primer is the primer of choice on above grade applications of self-adhered membranes where a quick setting, aggressive tack, solvent based primer is required.
Can blueskin be exposed to sun?
Limitations: Blueskin® SA is designed for exposure up to 90 days if necessary to accommodate construction scheduling, but is not designed for permanent exposure to ultraviolet light and should be covered as soon as practical after application.
Is the blueskin breathable?
Blueskin VP™ is a fully integrated, self-adhered, vapor permeable air and water barrier membrane. This innovative product provides a method to completely seal the building enclosure to control air leakage while maintaining a continuous drainage plane with excellent breathability.
What is the difference between Tyvek and house wrap?
Tyvek®HomeWrap® exhibited nearly four times the vapor permeability of perforated house wrap, which can only allow vapor to pass through punched holes. The superior vapor permeability of Tyvek® HomeWrap® correlates to decreased wall cavity drying times, and a reduced potential for mold and wood damage.
