What is the message behind Up?
Basically, the message of the film is that the real adventure of life is the relationship we have with other people, and it’s so easy to lose sight of the things we have and the people that are around us until they are gone.

The film ends with a shot of Paradise Falls, where it’s revealed that Carl’s house has landed in the spot overlooking the falls exactly where Ellie pictured it. Over the credits, Carl has started a new adventure book detailing his life as he settles into retirement while spending lots of time with Russell.
